Overview
As part of the celebration of Gunpla's (Gundam plastic model) 40th anniversary in Thailand, I was tasked with designing the exhibition. Gunpla is originally from Bandai Co., Ltd., a Japanese multinational toy manufacturer and distributor headquartered in Tokyo. The challenge was to incorporate the original graphics from Japan
RESEARCH AND UNDERSTANDING
WHAT IS GUNDAM?
Gundam is a popular Japanese franchise centered around giant robots called Mobile Suits. It includes anime, manga, games, and model kits. Known for its complex storytelling and intricate designs, Gundam explores themes of war, morality, and technology's impact on society. With multiple series and timelines, it has gained a significant global following and remains a cultural icon in Japanese pop culture.
ROBOTIC + JIGSAW + FUTURE
GOAL
Designing the Gunpla exhibition under the concept of "ROBOTIC + JIGSAW + FUTURE" aims to capture Gunpla's essence while staying true to Bandai's brand identity. Key elements include incorporating futuristic and robotic aesthetics, engaging visitors through interactive jigsaw experiences, creating a futuristic ambiance with dynamic visuals, and integrating Bandai's branding seamlessly. This design approach celebrates Gunpla's 40th anniversary in a visually striking and engaging manner, aligning with both the futuristic theme and Bandai's renowned identity.
